Aaron Tveit is set to be Wicked's next Fiyero. The actor, who is replacing David Burnham, will take on the role on June 24. He joins new stars Kerry Ellis as Elphaba and Jayne Houdyshell as Madam Morrible, who both begin performances June 17 at the Gershwin Theatre.
Tveit is currently appearing in Playwrights Horizons' production of the new musical Saved. He was recently nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actor for his turn in off-Broadway's Next to Normal. Additional credits include Link in Hairspray and the first national tours of Rent and Hairspray. Tveit also starred in the New York workshop of Broadway's upcoming Catch Me If You Can.
In addition ot Burnham, Wicked currently stars Stephanie J. Block as Elphaba, Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda, Lenny Wolpe as The Wizard, Miriam Margolyes as Madam Morrible, Christy Candler as Nessarose, Ben Liebert as Boq and Steven Skybell as Dr. Dillamond.
