Gavin Creel “Tweets” His Ankle Injury and Exits Hair

Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel injured his ankle while performing "I’ve Got Life" during the matinee performance of Hair on August 19 and missed the second act of the show. Understudy Paris Remillard stepped in play to the leading role of Claude in the hit revival at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. On August 20, Creel used his Twitter account to post a photo of his right leg encased in an orthopedic boot with the caption “Sh*t.” In response to sympathetic messages, he sent a second tweet, "Keep dem vibes positive! Healing is on the way!"

According to a production spokesperson, Creel may be out of the show through August 23. Paris Remillard appeared in Creel's place at an August 20 CD signing at Barnes & Noble will continue to play Claude through August 23.
