Rosie O’Donnell and her clan are walking the walk to promote family values. O’Donnell and ex-wife Kelli O’Donnell (née Carpenter) joined forces to promote the new film A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration. The former couple posed on the red carpet with their four children at a special screening hosted by HBO Documentary and GLAAD on January 19.
O’Donnell, who will return to off-Broadway’s Love, Loss and What I Wore in March, is the producer of the 40-minute film, in which she also appears. Directed by Amy Schatz, the documentary explores diversity of families today that challenges stereotypes, highlighting same-sex parents, mixed-heritage families, single parents and stories of adoption. It includes animated songs and musical performances by kids and their families, as well as performances and recordings by Ziggy Marley, Bonnie Raitt, Doris Day, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Frank Sinatra and They Might Be Giants.
A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration will debut on HBO on January 31.
