Tony-winning star Sutton Foster certainly knows how to connect with an audience. From her performances in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, Young Frankenstein, Shrek and more, fans have come to love the way Foster is able to create intimacy on stage—even in a big Broadway house. Now the triple-threat is sharing her musical theater sense and sensibility with students at NYU, where Foster taught a 15-week workshop entitled “Song Performance Workshop: From Rodgers to Heart.” The course covered everything from how to choose a song to bonding with an audience. Broadway.com was privileged to see the culmination of the class at Carroll Music on May 6, where the students performed a sneak peek of their class performance at Joe’s Pub the next night. We were blown away! Take a look at these pics of the stars of tomorrow. (And thanks for inviting us, Sutton!)
