Glee star Matthew Morrison revealed details about his upcoming album to the Associated Press, saying he’ll spend part of June in London working on the songs. “I’m writing all the music for it,” Morrison said. “It’s me and a big orchestra behind me.” Morrison likens his style as a “dance heavy” cross between Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake.
Morrison has already topped Billboard album charts with Glee’s various album releases. The show’s first season finale will air on June 8. “The last episode is so touching and so emotional,” Morrison said, noting his character has changed over the course of the season. “What I love about him now is he’s not perfect anymore. Now we’re seeing his faults, and he’s making some bad choices here and there.” It is also rumored that Morrison may return to South Pacific as Lt. Cable before the show closes this August.
After appearing in the ensemble of Footloose and The Rocky Horror Show, Morrison received his big Broadway break as Link Larkin in the smash Broadway musical Hairspray. He received a Tony Award nomination for his next big role, as Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza at Lincoln Center Theater, home of South Pacific. Other New York credits include the Broadway play A Naked Girl in the Appian Way and the off-Broadway musical 10 Million Miles, which earned him a Drama Desk Award nomination.
