Superstar performer Liza Minnelli will debut a line of apparel and jewelry on the Home Shopping Network on June 30. “The Liza Collection” will consist of limited edition pieces “inspired by Liza’s trademark look and recreated from her personal archives,” according to an HSN news release.
“My life has provided me the ability to amass a wonderful wardrobe designed by fashion’s brightest stars,” Minnelli said in a statement, adding in a promotional video, “Your clothes are like your dancing partners... fashion is passion.” The collection will include sequined separates and “signature flowy pants,” plus jewelry inspired by Minnelli’s own necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Minnelli served as a muse to the fashion designer Halston in the late 1970s and was frequently costumed by Bob Mackie.
The winner of three Tonys, an Oscar, an Emmy, two Golden Globes and a Grammy, Minnelli most recently appeared on Broadway in Liza’s at the Palace and was featured in the movie Sex and the City 2.
