Nick Adams will move up from his previously announced duty as an ensemble member to playing the substantial role of Felicia/Adam in the Broadway bound Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The musical will make its North American debut for a 12 week run in Ontario beginning October 12, with plans for a spring 2011 Broadway transfer. Adams will join previously announced stars Will Swenson as Tick and Tony Sheldon as Bernadette in the leading roles.
Based on the popular Australian film of the same name, Priscilla follows three drag queens on a cross country road trip. Adams will play Felicia, the youngest of the trio, who is recruited by Tick to join his and Bernadette's performance troupe. The show, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, had its world premiere in Australia in 2006.
Adams is no stranger to the glitzy drag life as he can currently be seen in the Tony winning revival of La Cage aux Folles as sassy Cagelle Angelique. His other Broadway credits include A Chorus Line, Guys and Dolls and The Pirate Queen.
