Tony winner Sutton Foster and Tony nominee Will Swenson will headline an invitation-only reading of Bonnie and Clyde: A Folktale, alongside Tony winner Beth Leavel and Tony nominee Marc Kudisch. The reading will take place September 10, 2010 at the Snapple Center and is directed by Lonny Price. The musical features a score by Rick Crom and book by Sutton's brother, Hunter Foster.
Foster is a Tony winner for Thoroughly Modern Millie and received nominations for Shrek the Musical, Little Women and The Drowsy Chaperone. She has also appeared on Broadway in Young Frankenstein, Annie, Les Miserables and Grease and can currently be seen in off-Broadway's Trust.
Swenson received a Tony nomination for Hair and is currently readying the Broadway production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. His other credits include Lestat, 110 in the Shade and Brooklyn. Leavel is a Tony winner for The Drowsy Chaperone and can currently be seen in Mamma Mia! and this fall's Elf. She has also appeared in Young Frankenstein, The Civil War, 42nd Street, Show Boat and Crazy For You. Kudisch is a Tony nominee for 9 to 5, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has also appeared in Assassins, Bells are Ringing, High Society, The Wild Party and Beauty and the Beast.
The musical follows the famed bank robbers as they try to outrun J. Edgar Hoover. The show was selected as the "Most Promising New Musical" during the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival.
