Scene-stealing 30 Rock actor Jack McBrayer has joined the cast of the October 18 benefit reading of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart. The event, to be held at the Walter Kerr Theatre, will feature previously announced stars Victor Garber, Patrick Wilson, Joe Mantello, Jason Butler Harner, John Benjamin Hickey and Michael Stuhlburg. Joel Grey directs, with proceeds benefiting The Actors Fund and Friends in Deed.
McBrayer is best known for his role as Kenneth on 30 Rock, which has earned the actor three Emmy nominations. His film credits include Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby.
The Normal Heart focuses on the terrifying early years of the AIDS epidemic in New York. The show played off-Broadway at the Public Theater from April 21 to July 7, 1985, with Grey in the cast.
