Susan Blackwell Goes Side by Side at Broadway on Broadway

Earlier this month, Broadway's biggest stars flooded Times Square to kick off the new theater season with the annual Broadway on Broadway concert. It wouldn't be an official theatrical party if Broadway.com's Susan Blackwell didn't show up to play with her Broadway friends. For her latest episode of Side by Side by Susan Blackwell, the actress snuck backstage at the concert, where a packed room of veteran Tony winners, stage favorites, fresh faces from new shows, chorus members and more hung out waiting to perform. Blackwell caught up with stars like Audra McDonald, Priscilla's Will Swenson, American Idiot's Tony Vincent, Rock of Ages' Mitchell Jarvis, La Cage aux Folles' dancers as well as Side by Side veterans Sutton Foster, Beth Leavel (Elf) and Karen Olivo and Lin-Manuel Miranda who closed out the concert with an epic performance of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' New York anthem, "Empire State of Mind."
