With the singing students of McKinley High tackling the song catalogue of pop princess Britney Spears in this week's episode of Glee, we asked which on-air performance of a Britney song was your favorite. The results are in, and "I'm a Slave 4 U," the first single from Spears' 2001 album, Britney, landed in the top spot with 34% of votes. The song opened the episode with ditzy cheerleader Brittany (Heather Morris) recreating Spears' notorious 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance (python and all!), thanks to a little anesthesia from Glee's new hunky resident dentist, Broadway veteran John Stamos.
Landing in a close second place came "Toxic" with 29% of the votes. Performed as a collaboration between Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and the glee club students, Spears' 2003 Grammy winning song from her album In the Zone was the only Britney number in the episode not imagined by a character. Third place went to another track from In the Zone, "Me Against the Music." Spears' duet with Madonna (performed by Morris and Naya Rivera, with a cameo by Spears herself) pulled in 15% of the votes.
Thanks for voting!
