The new musical Girl Talk, follow-up to the off-Broadway hit Girls Night, will begin an off-Broadway run on November 3 at the Times Square Arts Center. With a cast that includes WOR radio host Valerie Smaldone, the show will open on November 14, written by Louise Roche and directed by cast member Sonya Carter.
In addition to Smaldone and Carter, the cast of Girl Talk will include Priscilla Fernandez, Lauren Kairalla and Berty Jay.
Girl Talk is described as a raucous celebration of female friendship set during the final broadcast for a producer, two hosts and their favorite guest as they sign off in style from their hit radio show. After a 10-year run, the four characters discover that men and jobs can come and go, but girlfriends are forever. This interactive musical features hit songs from female recording artists including Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson.
Girl Talk had its American premiere at the DuPont Theatre in Wilmington, Delaware, in June 2010.
