Oprah Teases Her Sound of Music Reunion with Promo Clip

She knows we can’t wait! Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has released a teeny-tiny preview clip of her previously announced reunion show featuring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and the rest of the cast of The Sound of Music. The episode will air on October 29, timed to the release of a restored and remastered 45th anniversary edition of the beloved film musical on DVD and Bluray.

Andrews (who starred as Maria) and Plummer (Captain von Trapp) will be joined on The Oprah Winfrey Show by Charmian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies-Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl). The promo teaser shows the now-middle-aged “kids” descending an on-set staircase, reminding viewers of their performance of “So Long, Farewell” in the 1965 feature film.

Oh yes, and Oprah gets to do a little “hills are alive” twirl, too. Take a look!
