In one of the most unusual openings in memory, Time Stands Still is getting a second first-night celebration eight months after its original Broadway bow. Manhattan Theatre Club’s initial production of Donald Margulies’ drama closed in the spring to make way for another Margulies play (Collected Stories), and Time’s Tony-nominated star Laura Linney headed out to film the first season of her hit Showtime series The Big C. But three of the four original leading players—Linney, Brian d’Arcy James and Eric Bogosian—were game for Time Stands Still 2.0. So, on October 7, the play reopened at the Cort Theatre (with Christina Ricci replacing original star Alicia Silverstone), with a celebration afterward at Pio Pio. As always, Broadway.com was on the scene to capture all the excitement just for you.
