Aaron Lazar, Howard McGillin, Julia Murney, Hal Prince, Donna McKechnie, Mary Testa and more have joined the roster of the previously announced participants in the Actors Fund benefit concert Nothing Like a Dame: A Party for Comden and Green. Other new additions include Jennifer Barnhart, Larry Grossman, Rick Lyon, Victoria Mallory, Nancy Opel, Lee Roy Reams and Zakiya Young. The event, which will pay tribute to writing team Betty Comden and Adolph Green, will take place on November 1 at the Laura Pels Theatre.
Previously announced stars set to perform include Mario Cantone, Victoria Clark, Charles Busch and Marc Kudisch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative.
Comden and Green's many collaborations include On the Town, Wonderful Town, Do Re Mi, Subways are for Sleeping, Bells are Ringing, Hallelujah, Baby!, Applause, On the Twentieth Century and The Will Rogers Follies as well as screenplays for such films as The Band Wagon, Auntie Mame and Singin' in the Rain.
