CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric will make a cameo appearance on the post-Super Bowl episode of Glee set to air on February 6, 2011, according to The New York Times. No details have been revealed about Couric's role or whether she will perform on one of the show's musical numbers.
Couric, who recently criticized the racy GQ photo shoot featuring several of the show's stars, is the latest guest star to hop aboard the popular series. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow received raves for her appearance earlier this month and singer Susan Boyle is set to appear on the December 7 holiday episode. Couric will interview Glee star and Broadway veteran Matthew Morrison on a segment of CBS News Sunday Morning on December 5.
No stranger to evening TV, Couric guest-starred as herself on the CBS sitcom Murphy Brown in 1992 and in the NBC sitcom Will & Grace in late 2002. On May 12, 2003, when she was co-host of NBC's Today, she traded places for a day with Tonight Show host Jay Leno.
