Burlesque will take the stage in London’s West End when The Hurly Burly Show, starring Miss Polly Rae, begins performances at the Garrick Theatre on March 3, 2011. The show, directed by William Baker, will officially open on March 11.
The Hurly Burly Show is an all-singing, all-dancing revue with a contemporary twist, fusing the traditions of burlesque and bawdy cabaret with modern-day fashion, music and popular culture. With spectacular costumes, sets and lighting, Miss Polly Rae and her six Hurly Burly Girlys focus on the elegance of the tease and take audiences on a provocative journey full of wit, joie de vivre and celebration of the female form.
Polly Rae is an established burlesque soloist and vocalist. Her show, also known as Miss Polly Rae and Her Hurly Burly Girlys started life at the Soho Revue Bar five years ago. The Hurly Burly Show features musical direction by Steve Anderson, choreography by Ashley Wallen, vocal arrangements by Terry Ronald and lighting by Nick Whitehouse.
