Glee Receives Five Golden Globe Nominations, Including Nods for Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison

Glee topped the list of TV-related Golden Globe nominations for 2010, receiving five nods: Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical), Lea Michele as Best Actress in a Television Series (Comedy or Musical); Matthew Morrison as Best Actor in a Television Series (Comedy or Musical); Jane Lynch as Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television; and Chris Colfer as Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. Presented each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes ceremony will be held on January 16, 2011, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, hosted by Ricky Gervais.

Two actors currently appearing on Broadway are among the Golden Globe nominees: Time Stands Still star Laura Linney is up against Michele, Toni Collette (United States of Tara, Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) and Tina Fey (30 Rock) for her lead performance in the Showtime series The Big C. Merchant of Venice star Al Pacino is nominated for his performance as Dr. Jack Kevorkian in the TV movie You Don’t know Jack.

In the feature film categories, The King’s Speech received seven nominations, one more than The Fighter and The Social Network.
