Casting has been set for Lincoln Center Theater’s forthcoming LCT3 production of Nathan Louis Jackson’s When I Come to Die. Directed by Thomas Kail (who collaborated with Jackson on Lincoln Center Theater's 2009 off-Broadway production of Broke-ology), the play will begin previews at the Duke Theatre on January 31 and open on February 10, running through February 26.
The cast of When I Come to Die will include Michael Balderrama (In the Heights, Movin’ Out), Chris Chalk (Fences, Ruined), Neal Huff (Take Me Out, The Lion in Winter) David Patrick Kelly (The Glorious Ones, Festen) and Amanda Mason.
When I come to Die tells the tale of Damon Robinson (Chalk), a death-row inmate who struggles to find faith and hope and understand why his life has been spared after he survives a lethal injection.
This latest production in LCT's developmental series will have sets by Robin Vest, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by Betsy Adams and sound by Jill BC DuBoff.
