As Barbra Streisand readies to bring Gypsy back to the big screen, we asked which actress you'd like to see show some skin as her burlesque sensation daughter, Louise. The votes have been tallied, and two talented leading ladies—one an Oscar-nominated screen favorite, the other a Tony winner for the role in question—tied for first place. Anne Hathaway and Laura Benanti both scored 24% of votes.
Benanti took home a Tony Award for playing the Louise opposite Patti LuPone in the musical's 2008 revival. She recently completed a run in the new musical Women on the Verge of a Breakdown.
Hathaway, who has appeared on the New York stage in Twelfth Night, will have a chance to show off her pipes when she co-hosts this year's Academy Awards ceremony alongside James Franco.
Broadway veteran and Emmy nominee Lea Michele landed in the runner-up spot with 20% of votes. While the Glee star has yet to share the screen with Streisand, she has performed several of her songs on TV, including "Don't Rain on My Parade" and "Papa, Can You Hear Me?"
Third place goes to pop star Katy Perry. The "Teenage Dream" singer, who recently scored four Grammy nominations, earned 12% of votes.
Thanks for voting!
