Playwrights Horizons has announced a one-week extension of its world premiere production of Adam Bock’s A Small Fire, through January 30. The play began performances on December 16 and opened to strong reviews on January 6, directed by Trip Cullman. The additional week represents the only extension possible.
The four-person cast of A Small Fire includes Tony winner Michele Pawk, Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger, Reed Birney and Victor Williams.
In A Small Fire, when a tough-as-nails contractor (Pawk) finds her senses slipping on the brink of the wedding of her daughter (Keenan-Bolger), the impact on her family, including her supportive husband (Birney), is nothing less than seismic. The play is described as a human parable in which unexpected loss leads to an unlikely love story. For a video preview, click here.
