A starry lineup of performers has signed on to appear in the Drama League’s forthcoming black-tie gala honoring two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone. The dinner and show, a benefit for the Drama League’s famed Directors Project, will be held on February 7 in the Grand Ballroom of the Pierre Hotel, directed by Roger T. Danforth and Cady Huffman.
Broadway notables scheduled to appear include Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris, Anika Noni Rose, Scott Wittman & Marc Shaiman, Laura Benanti, Boyd Gaines, Christopher Sieber, Nick Adams, Will Chase, Chad Kimball, Emily Skinner, Justin Guarini, Michael Urie, Liz Callaway and James Monroe Iglehart, plus a special appearance by LuPone’s Life Goes On TV co-star Chris Burke. The cast will perform numbers highlighting LuPone’s long and distinguished stage career.
LuPone, described by Drama League board member Donna Murphy as “a true force of nature,” recently ended her run in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.
