Excitement is building for Matthew Morrison’s forthcoming solo CD, especially now that superstar Elton John has confirmed he’s singing a duet on the disc with the Broadway vet and Glee headliner. “I just did it!” John told Parade.com at a gay marriage fundraising event. “It's great, really fantastic. He sings great on it. 'It's a medley of ‘Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters’ going into ‘Rocket Man,’” John added, citing classic cuts from his 1972 album Honky Chateau.
Morrison’s so-far untitled solo CD is due in February. In an interview with MTV News last fall, the star said that he had co-written at least one song, “Dancing in the Rain,” with ‘NSYNC vet JC Chasez. "I wrote about half the album so far, but I've definitely co-wrote [and] teamed up with some great producers, some great songwriters," Morrison said.
In John’s interview with Morrison, the Billy Elliot and Lion King composer was reportedly enthusiastic about the idea of Glee covering his songs.
