The recently announced Los Angeles concert production of Funny Girl has been cancelled due to unspecified "scheduling conflicts." The show had been set to play the Pantages Theatre on March 14, with a starry roster of actresses including Laura Benanti sharing the role of Fanny Brice.
In a statement released on February 2, Actors Fund president Joe Benincasa said, “To produce a one-night-only benefit event takes an incredible team of performers, stage managers, producers and many others, all of whom donate their time and talent to The Fund. We are grateful to everyone who was ready to do so yet again on March 14, and we extend our thanks to the entire entertainment community, whose continued support helps assure that our programs and services are available to nearly 12,000 people across the country people every year.”
The Actors Fund has announced a different L.A. event to be held at the Pantages Theatre on February 21: Bruce Vilanch will host an evening honoring legendary theater star Carol Channing on her 90th birthday.
