Aya Cash & More Join Laurie Metcalf in Off-Broadway’s The Other Place

Complete casting has been announced for MCC Theater's upcoming world premiere production of Sharr White’s The Other Place, starring the previously announced Laurie Metcalf. Dennis Boutsikaris, Aya Cash and John Schiappa will join Metcalf in the play, which will begin performances on March 11 and open on March 28, directed by Joe Mantello.

In The Other Place, Metcalf stars as Juliana Smithton, whose research leads to a potential breakthrough in Alzheimer treatment drugs. But just as it does, her life takes a disorienting turn. During a lecture to colleagues at an exclusive beach resort, she glimpses an enigmatic young woman in a yellow bikini amidst the crowd of business suits. One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories collide in a cottage on the windswept shores of Cape Cod.

Cash’s stage credits include Offices, With Killers and Other Family and The Pain and the Itch, and she appears in the upcoming FOX television series Traffic Light. Boutsikaris co-starred with Metcalf in Broadway’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and has appeared on Broadway in Amadeus, Filumena and Bent. Schiappa has been seen on Broadway in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Assassins, Take Me Out, Blood Brothers, Jekyll & Hyde and Starlight Express.

The limited engagement will run through April 24, 2011 at off-Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre.
