Emmy-winning comedian Kathy Griffin is bringing her act to Broadway with a new solo show, Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony. The limited engagement will play for eight performances only from March 11 through 19 at the Belasco Theatre. The often raunchy comedian plans on using different material each night to accomodate her love of pop culture and current events.
Griffin is best known her Bravo TV series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. She is also the author of Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir. Her many film and TV credits include Suddenly Susan, Seinfeld, Ugly Betty, Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit and Shrek Forever After.
No stranger to Broadway folk, Griffin recently formed a friendship with Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth and featured the actress on her comedy series. Broadway.com readers even recently voted the comedian the reality TV star they'd most like to see come to Broadway. Wish granted!
