Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark star T.V. Carpio is out of the Broadway production for two weeks due to an unspecified onstage injury. Carpio's understudy, America Olivo, will take over the role of Arachne until Carpio's return at a still unannounced date.
"T.V. Carpio sustained an injury on Wednesday, March 16, during an onstage battle scene with a fellow actor," a spokesmen for the production said in a statement. "On doctor's orders, she will be out of the show for the next two weeks."
Featuring music by U2's Bono and The Edge, Spider-Man is currently in previews at the Foxwoods Theatre under the supervision of new director Philip William McKinley. The show will go on hiatus beginning April 17 with performances resuming May 12. Opening night is now scheduled for June 14. The production also stars Reeve Carney as Peter Parker, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page as Norman Osborn.
