Tony Award winner Denis O’Hare will join Connie Britton in the FX pilot American Horror Story, the new series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Deadline.com reports that the pilot will be shot in April and is being considered for a fall 2011 premiere.
Although FX has not released a plot summary for American Horror Story, the cast list breakdown describes the main characters as Ben Harmon, a sensitive therapist, and his wife, Vivien Harmon (Britton), who is a force to be reckoned with in spite of her vulnerable demeanor. O'Hare will play a character referred to as "Larry the burn guy.”
O’Hare most recently appeared on Broadway in the short-lived 2010 comedy Elling. A Tony winner for Take Me Out, he was nominated for a second Tony for Assassins and has appeared on Broadway in Inherit the Wind, Sweet Charity and Cabaret, among others. TV audiences know him for his role as a villainous vampire in True Blood.
