Won't be able to catch the upcoming Glee Live tour this summer? Not a problem! Lea Michele, Darren Criss, Cory Monteith and crew will hit movie theaters on August 12 with Glee Live! 3D! Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, the concert film will be recorded during the North American tour and feature performances and backstage moments with the Glee cast.
“This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series,” Glee creator Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory.”
The Glee tour kicks off on May 21 in Las Vegas and will stop at cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and more.
