Broadway darling Kristin Chenoweth is heading back to the small screen. The Tony and Emmy winner will headline the new ABC drama Good Christian Belles, formerly titled Good Christian Bitches.
Based on the book Good Christian Bitches by Kim Gatlin, the new series centers around Amanda Vaughn (played by Leslie Bibb), a recently divorced mom who moves back to her childhood home in Dallas to find herself amidst a gossip-filled social scene. Kristin Chenoweth plays the character of Darlene Cockburn, joining castmates including Annie Potts and Miriam Shor (Hedwig and the Angry Inch). The pilot episode was produced by Darren Star and written by Steel Magnolias playwright Robert Harling.
Chenoweth, last seen on Broadway in the hit revival of Promises, Promises, earned an Emmy Award for her work on the critically acclaimed series Pushing Daisies. Other notable TV credits include Glee and The West Wing.
