The May 24 season finale of Glee is just around the corner, and as the McKinley High crew preps for the nationals competition, several students stepped out to audition as the lead soloist. In the end, the team decided to band together and not single out one singer in their performance. Broadway.com asked readers if a soloist were to be selected, which student would you have chosen? The votes are in and Rachel (Lea Michele) earned the top spot with 43% of votes. Michele channeled Barbra Streisand yet again by auditioning with the Funny Girl classic "My Man."
Mercedes (Amber Riley) scored the runner-up spot with 29% of votes. While guest judge Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) wasn't blown away by her rendition of "Try a Little Tenderness," Mr. Schuester and Mercedes' fellow glee club members gave her performance a thumbs up. Kurt (Chris Colfer) rounded out the top three with 14% of votes. For the second time this season, Kurt looked to Gypsy for inspiration by performing "Some People."
Thanks for voting!
