From meeting the sweet young sisters of Sister Act earlier in our Broadway.com character series, you might think that all nuns are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Think again. In the latest installment of our video series meet Sister Mary Lazarus, a lifelong nun as old as her namesake who runs the convent choir which disco singer Deloris Van Cartier spruces up after her arrival in holy hiding. In the video below, Audrie Neenan and her co-stars discuss this crotchety character’s place in on the convent, why she and Mother Superior are bosom buddies and how she got into this whole ‘nun’ game anyway.
