WTF? Frances McDormand's Tony Night Mug Shot

Is this the face of a woman who “loves” her job? Freshly minted Tony winner Frances McDormand skipped the red carpet and the press room on the big night, but she did pose for this curious series of mug-shot-style photos backstage at the Beacon Theatre. The actress, who won for her performance as a down-on-her-luck single mom in Good People, rocked a Tony night look (denim jacket, glasses, no makeup) that inspired its own Twitter account (@McDsJeanJacket). It’s hard to say what the top WTF moment of the evening was…other contenders include Mark Rylance’s deadpan delivery of a prose poem, Brooke Shields’ bloopers and bleeps and Nikki M. James’ acceptance speech line, “I come from a long line of bumblebees.” But for our money, McDormand acting like she’s incarcerated instead of a winner of a prestigious theater prize is tops.
