Full casting has been announced for the upcoming national tour of The Addams Family. The tour will launch on September 15 at New Orleans' Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts.
Joining previously announced stars Douglas Sills (Gomez) and Sara Gettelfinger (Morticia) are Tony nominee (and father of Tony winner Laura Benanti) Martin Vidnovic (Brigadoon) as Mal Beineke, Tony nominee Crista Moore (Gypsy, Big) as Alice Beineke, Blake Hammond (Sister Act) as Uncle Fester, Pippa Pearthree (Inherit the Wind) as Grandma, Tom Corbeil (Death in Venice) as Lurch, Patrick D. Kennedy as Pugsley, Brian Justin Crum (Next to Normal) as Lucas Beineke and Cortney Wolfson (Les Miserables) as Wednesday.
The ensemble will feature Ted Ely, Karla Garcia, Steve Geary, Victoria Huston-Elem, Patrick Oliver Jones, Lizzie Klemperer, Alexander Matteo, Christy Morton, Brad Nacht, Rebecca Riker, Jonathan Ritter, Roland Rusinek, Geo Seery, Samantha Shafer and Jason Eric Testa.
Inspired by the popular comic series, The Addams Family follows the bizarre clan as their daughter Wednesday brings home a "normal" boyfriend and his midwestern parents for dinner. The musical bowed on Broadway on April 8, 2010, and features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, with creative consultation by Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
