Tony nominee Jonathan Groff and True Blood star Rutina Wesley, along with American Pie star Eddie Kaye Thomas and stage vet Will Rogers, took time out of rehearsal on August 8 to introduce Jeff Talbott's new play The Submission to the theater press. In the MCC Theater production, helmed by Tony winner Walter Bobbie, Groff stars as a young, white playwright whose choice to use a pen name for his play about an alcoholic black mother that quickly spirals out of control. The play will begin performances on September 8 at off-Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre, where it will open September 27 and run through October 22.
