Two-time Tony nominee Bobby Cannavale has joined the cast of Showtime's Nurse Jackie for the series' fourth season, according to EW.com. Cannavale will play an administrator sent to All Saints' Hospital by a conglomerate that buys the property. Production on season four begins in September, and new episodes will air in the spring of 2012.
Cannavale earned Tony nominations for The Motherf**er With the Hat and Mauritus. His other stage credits include Trust, Fucking A, Hurlyburly and A Flea in Her Ear. He earned an Emmy Award for his guest stint on Will and Grace. Cannavale's film and TV credits include Win Win, The Station Agent, Blue Bloods, Louie, Cold Case, Cupid, Romance and Cigarettes, Shall We Dance, Third Watch and Happy Endings.
Edie Falco won a 2010 Emmy Award for playing Nurse Jackie's title character. The show, which films in New York, also counts New York stage veterans Eve Best, Anna Deavere Smith and Merrit Weaver among its regulars and has featured guest turns from familiar Broadway faces including Judith Light, Swoosie Kurtz, Harvey Fierstein, Gregory Jbara, Judith Ivey, Mary Faber, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Theo Stockman.
