As Glee fans have already heard, Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will reprise her role as choir coach-turned-adoptive mother Shelby Corcoran on the third season of the hit series. It looks like Menzel has reported for duty on the set, as Glee star Lea Michele enthusiastically tweeted about her joy in welcoming her fellow Broadway star back to McKinley High.
"This makes me so happy," Michele posted on her Twitter page on August 24, accompanied by a photo of personalized chairs with both actresses' names on the back. "If [someone] told me four years ago when I was in [Spring Awakening] that Idina and I would be on a TV show together, I would have never believed it."
Menzel last appeared on Glee during the show's first season, when her character was revealed as the birth mother of Rachel Berry, the character played by Michele. Corcoran left her post as coach of rival singing team Vocal Adrenaline to give motherhood a second shot after Quinn (Dianna Agron) gave her baby up for adoption.
Glee begins its third season on September 20 on FOX.
