First Portrait of British Pop Star Kimberley Walsh as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical

Singer Kimberley Walsh of the top-selling pop group Girls Aloud is headed to the West End as Princess Fiona in the London production of Shrek the Musical, and we’ve got a first portrait of the star in full costume. Walsh is set to join the show on October 5, replacing a pregnant Amanda Holden, and will co-star with Nigel Lindsay in the title role. Shrek represents a theatrical homecoming for Walsh, who played Young Cosette in Les Miserables at age 12. The story of an unlikely romance between a green ogre and a feisty princess, Shrek is a certified hit in London, with tickets on sale at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane through October 21, 2012.
