Chris Rock in Annie? Saturday Night Live Casts the Comic in Broadway Classics

Comedian Chris Rock ventured out of his comfort zone last spring by making his Broadway acting debut in Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Motherf**ker With the Hat. That got the folks at Saturday Night Live thinking about other shows Rock might consider doing on the Great White Way! On the October 1 episode, Jay Pharoah played Rock in a sketch that envisioned the standup king in Romeo and Juliet as well as the musicals Oliver! and Annie.
