Tony winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), T.V. Carpio (Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark), Adam Jacobs (The Lion King), Jose Llana (Wonderland) and more are set for the Philippine Development Foundation's Suites By Sondheim benefit concert on November 7 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. The event, which features music from Stephen Sondheim's extensive catalog, is directed by Victor Lirio, with music direction and orchestrations by Tom Myron.
"Given the repertoire of material that Victor Lirio has assembled and the stars he's been able to enlist for this very special concert, I think the audience can expect nothing less than excellence," Salonga told Broadway.com. "These are all theater artists at the top of their game, who sing like nobody else can, whose understanding of every piece they tackle is not just admirable, but straight from the heart. I'll be watching from the wings for sure, and at every rehearsal."
The concert will also feature performances by Joan Almedilla, Alan Ariano, Emy Baysic, Ali Ewoldt, Rona Figueroa, Lydia Gaston, Orville Mendoza, Paolo Montalban, Jennifer Paz and Diane Phelan.
