Diego Boneta, who plays Drew in the upcoming Rock of Ages film, has joined the cast of the film adaptation of Paradise Lost, alongside Broadway veterans Benjamin Walker and Bradley Cooper, according to Deadline.com. Camilla Belle will also star in the movie, which begins production in January 2012.
Originally published in 1687, John Milton's Paradise Lost is an epic poem that recounts the biblical story of the fall of man and the war between good and evil. Boneta will play Adam opposite Belle as Eve. Cooper will take on the role of Lucifer, with Walker playing archangel Michael.
Boneta began his career on Mexican TV and sang in a boy band, releasing a the single “Perdido En Ti (Losing Me)” in 2008. In America, he has been featured in 90210, Pretty Little Liars and the TV movie Mean Girls 2. Cooper appeared on Broadway in Three Days of Rain. His many film and TV credits include Wedding Crashers, The Hangover, Limitless, Alias and Kitchen Confidential. Walker's Broadway credits include Inherit the Wind, Les Liasons Dangereuses and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Belle has appeared in such films as The Ballad of Jack and Rose, When a Stranger Calls and 10,000 B.C.
Paradise Lost is directed by Alex Proyas and features a screenplay by Ryan Condal, Phili de Blasi, Stuart Hazeldine, Lawrence Kasdan and Byron Willinger.
