Chord Overstreet Eyes Late-Season Return to Glee

Chord Overstreet may return to Glee as Sam Evans later in the show's third season, according to EW.com. Overstreet departed the series at the end of season two after the producers declined to make Sam a regular character. The actor is currently in negotiations to return for a few episodes and then become a recurring character.

The second season finale concluded with Sam beginning a romance with Mercedes (Amber Riley). Overstreet's exit was explained by saying that his character's father had found work in a different town. Riley's character has since begun dating Glee newcomer LaMarcus Tinker.

Glee returns with new episodes on November 1.
