Glee may soon play host to another exciting guest star: Just a day after it was reported that Evita’s Ricky Martin may appear as McKinley High’s new Spanish teacher, EW.com reports that Latin singing sensation Gloria Estefan is in negotiations to play Santana’s mother. Estefan and Martin will appear in the same episode, set to air in late January 2012, which will reportedly feature Estefan’s own music as well as other bilingual songs.
Estefan is a seven-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, and actress. She has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, cementing her place in the top 100 best selling artists. Her film credits include Music of the Heart, For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, and Marley & Me.
Estefan would join the ever-growing list of high-profile guest stars on the hit Fox series including Kristin Chenoweth, Gwyneth Paltrow, Carol Burnett, Cheyenne Jackson, Molly Shannon and John Stamos.
