Tony nominee and Glee star Jonathan Groff will appear in Miscast 2012, MCC Theater's annual gala featuring actors performing songs from roles in which they would never be cast. The event will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom on March 26, 2012. Further casting will be announced shortly.
Last year’s performers included Norbert Leo Butz, Brian d'Arcy James, Ana Gasteyer, Laura Osnes, Nicole Parker and Steven Pasquale.
Groff recently starred in MCC’s production of The Submission. His breakout came in 2006 for his Tony-nominated performance in the musical Spring Awakening. His other theater credits include the Broadway production of In My Life, Central Park productions of Hair and The Bacchae, the West End revival of Deathtrap and off-Broadway productions of The Singing Forest and Prayer for My Enemy. Groff then joined the cast of the hit fox series Glee as recurring character Jesse St. James.
