Premiere Date Set for Idina Menzel’s Barefoot TV Concert Special

Tony winner Idina Menzel’s solo concert special, Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony, will premiere on Chicago’s PBS affiliate WTTW on January 9. Menzel will also appear live in the WTTW studios as part of the pledge drive for the station. The previously announced special will air on PBS affiliates throughout the rest of the U.S. beginning March 3.

The concert, which was filmed in November in Toronto, will also feature her husband and former Rent co-star Taye Diggs, as well as composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch. Menzel, who won a Tony for Wicked, has also appeared on Broadway in Rent and Aida. Her film and TV credits include Glee, Rent and Enchanted.

Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot at the Symphony will be released on DVD and CD in March.
