Two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth has landed a recurring role on the CBS legal drama The Good Wife, according to EW.com. Neuwirth will play Judge Friend, a stern yet sexy woman who does not tolerate joking. Friend is involved in a legal dilemma when top witnesses on both sides of a case appear guilty of perjury. No air dates have been announced for Neuwirth's appearances.
Neuwirth won Tony Awards for Chicago and Sweet Charity. She made her Broadway debut in A Chorus Line and has also appeared in Dancin’, Little Me, Damn Yankees, Fosse and The Addams Family. A film and TV regular, Neuwirth is best known for her roles in Cheers and Frasier. Her additional credits include Law & Order: Trial by Jury, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Jumanji.
The Good Wife airs Sunday nights on CBS. The series has frequently featured theater veteran guest stars such as Jonathan Groff, Karen Olivo and Anika Noni Rose.
