Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster will soon be starring in her own TV show. Bunheads, the ABC Family pilot that she headlines, from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, has been picked up as a series on the network, according to Deadline.com.
In the show, Foster plays Michelle, a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man and moves to his sleepy coastal town, taking a role at her mother-in-law’s dance school.
Foster is currently starring as Reno Sweeney in the Broadway revival of Anything Goes, for which she won the 2011 Best Actress Tony. She received her second Tony for Thoroughly Modern Millie and received Tony nominations for Little Women, Shrek and The Drowsy Chaperone. On TV, Foster has guest-starred on Flight of the Conchords and Law & Order: SVU.
