A starry roster of stage veterans have signed on for the Public Theater's Public Sings! An Unforgettable Celebration of Musical Theater. Tony winner Alan Cumming (Cabaret), Tony nominee Montego Glover (Memphis), three-time Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara (South Pacific) and Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) will take the Joe's Pub stage on March 5 in support of the off-Broadway institution. Directed by Daisy Prince, the Public Theater benefit will also feature Gabriel Kahane and Ethan Lipton.
The performers join previously announced singers Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), Tony winner Laura Benanti (Gypsy), four-time Tony nominee Raul Esparza (Company), Jesse L. Martin (Rent), Steven Pasquale (The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide...) and David Byrne.
The evening will feature music from Public Theater-produced musicals including Hair, A Chorus Line and Caroline, or Change, as well as musicals in development such as February House.
