Kristen Wiig Channels Liza Minnelli on Saturday Night Live

Who cares if it takes you three minutes to turn off a lamp, if you do it in sequins and style? On the March 10 episode of Saturday Night Live, the sketch series lovingly spoofed show biz icon Liza Minnelli in a skit that showed the Tony winner struggling to perform the simplest of tasks: turning out the lights. Set on the opening night of Cats, the skit centers on a cigar-smoking Broadway producer-type (guest host Jonah Hill) who's taking Minnelli (played by Kristen Wiig) to the show. Or he will, once she turns of all the pesky lamps in her apartment. Wiig got decked out in Liza’s red sequined top and shaggy ‘do for this Saturday Night Live bit, complete with countless rimshots, jazz hands and at least one Tommy Tune joke. Check it out!
