Date Set for 13th Annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards Ceremony

The 13th Annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, the only major theatrical prize awarded solely by votes cast online by audience members, will celebrate its second live ceremony at The Allen Room in Frederick P. Rose Hall on May 13.

The ceremony will feature the presentation of awards in traditional categories, as well as several unique to the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards such as Favorite Diva Performance, Favorite Breakthrough Performance, Favorite Onstage Pair, and Favorite Broadway Tour, which allows audience members across the country to cast a vote and have a voice. All awards are decided solely by the voting of theater fans on Broadway.com.

Beginning April 23, fans themselves will be able to choose nominees for each of the 16 awards on Broadway.com. Nominees will be announced on the site on May 3, and voting will begin. The winners will be announced live at the ceremony on May 13.

In the twelve-year history of the awards (formerly known as the Broadway.com Audience Awards), theater fans have honored countless stars for their contributions to the stage. Among past winners are Clay Aiken, Antonio Banderas, Matthew Broderick, Norbert Leo Butz, Kristin Chenoweth, Harry Connick Jr., Harvey Fierstein, Jane Fonda, Sutton Foster, Ethan Hawke, Sean Hayes, Hugh Jackman, Cheyenne Jackson, Jane Krakowski, Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, Idina Menzel, Lea Michele, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mary-Louise Parker, Daniel Radcliffe, Sara Ramirez, Vanessa Redgrave, Julia Roberts, Liev Schreiber, Elaine Stritch, Patrick Wilson and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
